After 3 years of fun and fundraising it was agreed by Martin's family and the trustees that The Martin Lawrence Memorial Trust should come to an end at the end of its financial year - 31 January, 2018. Since then we have claimed Gift Aid rebate on donations made during 2017 and distributed our remaining funds to the 3 main charities we have been supporting - £5000 to Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust's School Days this summer, £5000 to SKRUM's ongoing programme in Swaziland and £8000 to a Send a Cow's work in the Dawuro area in Ethiopia.
I will continue to support the Dawuro Livelihoods Project in Ethiopia for the next 3 years, so Martin's legacy will live on, and I will be visiting the groups MLMT supported over the past 3 years in November and the Martin Lawrence Memorial Corner at Send a Cow's field office nearby.
If you would like to hear about this trip and keep in touch, please drop me an email - email@example.com - as there will be no more MLMT newsletters.
A final 'Thank You' to everyone who supported our events - Golf Days, Dinner at Lord's, Osprey Cruise, our Launch and Final Parties - and gave so generously so that we could 'Give Young People in Africa and the UK a better chance in life through learning, education and sport'.
Stephen and I will be at Lord's on Thursday, August 6 and will be having our usual picnic lunch on the Coronation Lawn, so maybe see a few of you there!
Enjoy the rest of this amazing summer and thank you all again
