You are warmly invited to join friends of Martin (and their guests) in the Long Room at Lord's Cricket Ground on October 8 to reminisce about cricket, friends past and present, life in general and raise a glass to Martin's memory - and the victorious England team for regaining the Ashes! The evening will begin with a Drinks Reception in the Long Room Bar followed by a three-course meal , with guest speakers, including Northants & England legend Allan Lamb.

Tickets priced £100 each or £1000 for a table of 10 people are selling well, so do click here for further details and booking form, to reserve your place.

We look forward to seeing you at this special venue which Martin loved so much.

Tricia joined Geoff Hastings for the Lincs U13 finals day at Burghley Park Cricket Club on July 14. The semi-finals took place in the morning followed by the final and the winning team (above) represented Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough. Spalding won at U15 level. This year 170 state schools (2200 children) in Cambs, Peterborough, West Norfolk, Northants, Leics & Lincs have played competitive cricket at U13 & U15 level. Our support will ensure at least another 40 school teams will join the League in 2016 - more if we raise sufficient funds at our Dinner on October 8.

We were MATCH CHARITY at the T20 Blast Northants v Yorkshire Match on July 17 at NCCC.
A full house enjoyed an exciting match when Northants beat Yorkshire - and have since qualified for this year's T20 Finals Day at Edgbaston. Between innings, new kits were presented to 3 more schools in the Northampton area. Our bucket collection raised £1,020 which has paid for The Fred Trueman Cricket League to have its own website, which will raise its profile before next season.

The last OSPREY TALK, WALK & BREAKFAST took place on July 30. Our thanks go to Tim Mackrill, Senior Reserve Officer at Rutland Water, for leading our 4 early morning walks and everyone who came, which have raised £900 for MLMT.

'THE BIG DEBATE' on 1 October at City Hall, London SE1 2AA
Send a Cow is hosting what promises to be a most interesting debate 'Reliance or Resilience' and as a Trustee of Send a Cow I would like to invite anyone interested in International Development to come as my Guest. All guests will need name badges for security reasons, so please let me (tricia@themartinlawrencememorialtrust.org) and Chloe Powell (chloe.powell@sendacow.org) know if you would like to come. Click here for more details. MLMT has pledged £104,000 to fund a Send a Cow project in Ethiopia over the next 3 years, and Martin's family and close friends will be visiting the project in late October when they go to fulfil Martin's wish for his ashes to be scattered in Ethiopia.

DATES FOR EVENTS IN 2016 WILL BE IN OUR NEXT NEWSLETTER following our Trustees Meeting on Sept 11.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Dinner - and maybe a few at The Big Debate. Thank you - again - for your amazing support.
