Our 2nd Red Trouser Golf Day took place on September 14 at The Luffenham Heath Golf Club in Rutland - Martin's home course for his last 20 years.
The course was in great condition and 72 players enjoyed playing on a beautiful late summer's day. The Winning Team of Guy Gilman, Ken Argo, John Gaunt and John Harris won the MLMT Trophy and Putters, and John Harris also won Nearest the Pin on the 9th hole. Darren Bicknell, Graham Warren & Charles Lacey all holed the Long Putt Left-handed, but Charles won Martin's Colourful Jacket and a bottle of Pink Champagne after a Putt-Off.
Ted Johnson won the True/False Quiz, and generously donated his prize of a Lobster & Champagne meal at The George of Stamford to be auctioned, so it raised an extra £200 for MLMT.
Huge thanks to everyone who donated Auction Prizes and those who bid for them. A wonderful £6353 was raised from the day, so we were able to give the Motor Neurone Disease Association £3176 - which will go to the North Wiltshire MND Support Group where Tricia is now an Association Visitor.
Our thanks go to Tim Stephens and Luffenham Heath staff for their help on the day and James Lawson for his part organising the event - and also to everyone who played and helped make it such an enjoyable and successful day.
