MLMT Annual Review
A big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us over the last year - by their generous donations & by coming to our fund-raising events, to my fellow trustees, James Lawson, Susannah Dibben & Mark Caswell, to our Patrons, Judith Chalmers OBE, Neil Durden-Smith OBE, Sir David Reid & The Rt Hon Lord Naseby, & our Hon Treasurer Ian Aldred.
This year we have continued our support for Send a Cow groups in Ethiopia and Rutland Osprey Project's work with schoolchildren. We have sponsored Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust's School Days enabling city & small rural primary schoolchildren to enjoy a day of cricket & learning about countryside activities and also supported SKRUM's work educating the youth of Swaziland in HIV/Aids Awareness & Gender issues through school partnerships and community coaching
Message from James Lawson, Chairman of Trustees -
'I am delighted to report that the MLMT has completed another successful year. We have seen our donations to the 4 charities make a real difference to the lives and activities of the young people they support. Our accounts for year ending January 31, 2017 are in good order with a healthy balance to carry forward. I recently spent time with Tricia at one of the Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust's Schools Days we sponsor and it was marvellous to see over 120 children (half from a Nottingham inner city school) playing fast cricket, orienteering and searching for bugs and all manner of creepy crawlies, being shown how gamekeepers control vermin and watching the amazing feats of Birds of Prey. I am sure Martin would have been moved and pleased to see how BCCT touches the lives of so many children - 2700 last year. I would add that our support would not be possible without Tricia's tireless work and commitment'
