June Newsletter

Hello everyone On June 18 I will be joining my father, Piers, and his friends, a hefty group of MAMILS (for those of you not in the know, MAMIL stands for Middle Aged Men in Lycra!) as we cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in 11 days. Taking in all 4 countries of the UK and cycling 100 miles a day, it is certainly the biggest mental and physical challenge I have faced, but doing it for 2 great causes will definitely help me keep pushing round the pedals.

The first £1000 I raise will go to the Meningitis Research Foundation - a charity whose research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia meant that I was fortunate to recover unscathed from this illness aged 3, whilst so many are not so lucky.

All further money raised will go towards, you guessed it, MLMT! I specifically want my fundraising to go to Send a Cow's work with young people and I am really looking forward to seeing early results when we visit our MLMT- supported project in Ethiopia in October when we go as a family to scatter grandpa's ashes in this country he loved. Grandpa's memory is a constant inspiration to my sisters and me and your unfading support means so much to us - thank you so much.
